The Last Four Doctors --- Dr. Movement, Dr. Diet, Dr. Quiet and Dr. Happiness ---actually are not real doctors but rather are concepts created by my mentor Paul Chek. We have found in working with thousands of people that once these four concepts are “in check,” the human being is happy, healthy and at peace with its existence, and visits to the medical doctor are either nonexistent or a rare occurrence. Dr. Movement:
Dr. Movement is another name for exercise or “work out”. Exercise is not just a means to build muscle and lose weight. Proper functional exercise:

Restores good posture.

Delivers oxygen to the cells.

Pumps the body. Many of our structures do not have their own blood supply and must get blood and nutrition via pumping or proper movement of the body.

Pumps cerebral spinal fluid. If you have good posture and normal spinal curves, when you exercise properly you cause deformation of the spinal curves, thus pumping cerebral spinal fluid.

Pumps waste and metabolites out of the body.

Restores biological oscillators of the body. The biological oscillators include the brain, heart and intestines. When these oscillators are out of tune, it is like a car that is out of tune and spits and sputters when at idle.
Dr. Diet:
Dr Diet is another name for nutrition. YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT AND DRINK! All cells of the human body are made up of the food you eat. You replace every one of your 100 trillion cells in your body approximately every seven years. Do you want your new cells to have the health of an organic animal, vegetable or fruit or would you like your cells to have the health of a processed food void of any life force.
The way most health experts look at food is completely wrong. Fat loss should not be your first thought when you think of food. The main purpose of food is to fuel those 100 trillion cells in your body. Just as your car requires the correct gas, when you feed your body the proper food, the body can then take care of itself and you can lose weight, be healthy, happy and full of energy.
Besides producing all the cells in your body, the foods you eat produce your hormones. Your hormones in turn produce your thoughts. It is impossible to have a healthy mind without a healthy body.
Dr. Quiet:
Dr. Quiet is another name for rest or “work in”. There are three types of rest--- there is total rest, active rest and passive rest. Most people don’t understand that when we “work out,” we actually tear the body down, so that when we “rest” we build the body back up again.
Whether you use the word, spirit, Chi or Prana, it does not matter because all these words mean “life force.” Dr. Quiet “work in” is used to balance out Dr. Movement “work out.” If you don’t have a balance this will lead to disease and eventually death due to diminishing life force.
Dr. Happiness:
Just because you have Dr. Movement, Dr. Diet and Dr. Quiet under control does not mean that you are going to be healthy. We are still missing Dr. Happiness. If you are in dysfunctional relationships or hate your job, the production of cortisol is still going to be high in your body and you will be overly stressed.
This is the importance of Dr. Happiness. A well-known chiropractor by the name of Dr. Jerry Wech said “Those that have a big enough dream, don’t have time for a crisis.” This means that if you have actually found and are living your legacy, if you have defined your core values, you are living in what Paul Chek calls “body and soul union” wherein sickness, obesity and disease cannot exist any more than the words yes and no can exist at the same time.
If you don’t know what makes you happy in both your private life and professional life that is OK. The main thing to realize is that happiness is a piece of the puzzle to total health.
