There are no guarantees that life will turn out the way you want it to, but you have a better chance of “designing” your own life if you are given the proper tools to do so.

CREATE: Create

Paul Chek taught me many years ago that being healthy is taking responsibility for what YOU create moment to moment. This is also the true definition of an adult. How you eat, drink and move will influence how you feel and how you interpret your stress. There are no guarantees that life will turn out the way you want it to, but you have a better chance of “designing” your own life if you are given the proper tools to do so.

Think about creating your own life is much the same way as an architect designs a building. The first thing to do is to lay out the blueprint of your life the way you want to see it. There is nothing wrong with “dreaming.” Once you have a dream then you must get very clear on what you deem your core values to be and these values are broken down into personal values and professional values. In Paul Chek’s “The Last Four Doctors You’ll Ever Need” e-book, he takes you through some easy steps to clarify your core values. Once you establish your core values and live by them, it is possible to attract and create your life the way you dreamt it to be.

Healthy Nutrition

NUTRITION:

You are what you eat and drink! All cells of the human body are made out of the food you eat. You replace every one of your 100 trillion cells in your body approximately every seven years. Do you want your new cells to have the health of an organic animal, vegetable or fruit or would you like your cells to have the health of a processed food void of any life force?

The way most health experts look at food is completely wrong. Fat loss should not be your first thought when you think of food. The main purpose of food is to fuel those 100 trillion cells in your body. Just as your car requires the correct gas, when you feed your body the proper food, the body then can take care of itself and you can lose weight, be healthy, happy and full of energy.

Besides producing all the cells in your body, the foods you eat produce your hormones. Your hormones in turn produce your thoughts. It is impossible to have a healthy mind without a healthy body and nor a healthy body without a healthy mind.

We utilize a detailed nutrition program based on pure, unbiased science and common sense. Nutrition programs come complete with shopping lists, sample meal plans and very easy recipes so there is no guess work. You will love our nutrition plan, not only is it nutritious for you, the food tastes fantastic!

HydrationHYDRATION:

The human body is composed of up to 75% water. So, why do people insist on drinking everything else but water? Most Americans drink nothing but soda, diet soda, sports drinks, coffee and store bought fruit juices. Not only are these drinks full of high fructose corn syrup, they also contain many chemical food additives that are known stomach irritants and carcinogenic to the human body.

At the most basic level, water serves two important functions: hydration and cleansing. Water is actually required in every cellular process in the human body. Your body will die from dehydration long before starvation.

Most water on this planet is polluted, so please go out of your way to buy clean, quality water or invest in a reverse osmosis system to purify your tap water. How much water should you drink? This is easy actually. Drink when your body tells you to drink! We have two polarities going here. We have those that never drink water and are dehydrated and we have those that walk around with a gallon jug of water in their hands drowning themselves. Our body is very wise---when you are thirsty… drink!

Sleep: Sleep

Sleep is also known as circadian rhythms. Before the advent of artificial light, our sleep patterns were the same as animals. When the sun went down, we went to sleep and when the sun came up, we woke up. The average American sleeps only about 7 hours per night. This is roughly 90 minutes less sleep per night than people were getting 100 years ago.

There is research that shows, based on circadian rhythms, that we repair our bodies from 10 pm to about 2 am and then we psychologically repair our minds from about 2 am to 6 am. Also, there is plenty of valid research that shows we actually lose weight at night when we have deep, adequate sleep. So, if you are not getting to bed around 10 pm and you are suffering from injuries, illness or obesity, you will have a very difficult time repairing those injuries or losing weight. Also, if you are not sleeping until at least 6 am, you will have a problem keeping your emotions and your psychology in check. Just ask any shift worker how they feel after doing a prolonged schedule of late night shift work to verify this fact.

Dream

DREAM

What are your dreams? Do you dream to have a fit, functioning body? Is it your dream to be a top-notch golfer or tennis player? Or is it your dream to be pain free or to be able to play with your kids or your grandkids? We all have dreams for our physical bodies. At BodyProFtL our goal is to help you reach your dreams. We will help you set realistic, attainable goals and help coach you along the way for success.

BREATHING: Breathing

Spirit, Prana, Chi, the breath of life. Whatever you wish to call it, breathing is the most important reflex of the human body. If you don’t breathe in 3 minutes your brain starts to die and if you don’t breathe in 5 minutes your body will die. Textbooks will tell you that the average breaths for the average adult is 12-16 breaths per minute. However, Paul Chek states that the average breath rate of a “healthy” adult should be only 8-10 breaths per minute. Your respiratory rate will directly affect your energy levels, mood, and actually every aspect of your physiology down to the most minuscule reaction.

During a BodyPro assessment, many aspects of the human body are assessed, but nothing gives more information about the individual than a respiratory assessment. Because respiration is the highest survival reflex of the human body, a faulty respiratory pattern can actually be the driving cause of any orthopedic dysfunction including things such as Achilles tendonitis, shoulder and neck pain.

THINKING:

Thoughts lead to words and words lead to deeds. The average person has about 12,000 thoughts per day. Of those 12,000 thoughts, 9,600 of them are negative or we can say that 80% of all thoughts are negative. The human being is composed of pure energy and thoughts are energy. Thoughts manifest themselves in the body as ideas and ideas go on to manifest themselves as reality. Maybe you have heard the phrase “your perception is your reality?” What this is saying is that what you believe is true for you.

ThinkingAs human beings, we have the ability to create physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. Your thoughts create your health, your thoughts create your emotions, your thoughts create your spiritual beliefs and your thoughts can create beauty. But, since the average person thinks 9,600 negative thoughts per day, your thoughts can create disease, your thoughts can create a fat, sick body, your thoughts can create negative emotions, your thoughts can create dogmatic beliefs and your thoughts can create ugliness.

Thoughts are the first foundation principle that needs to be addressed whenever taking on a health and fitness program, because the emotional, mental and spiritual body moves much faster than the physical body. If we change your thoughts to be more positive than negative, you will create your desired goals much quicker. Remember this, “your body can not lie.” If you are over-weight, sick, tired, depressed or suffering from a disease, your nutrition, lifestyle and fitness program is not working for you.

Movement
MOVEMENT:

Movement is the name for exercise. At BodyProFtL we look at exercise a bit differently from most. Exercise can either be catabolic (destructive) or anabolic (repairing). Most fitness professionals know only how to use exercise as a means of destruction. This concept is fine as long as you are taking care of the other foundation principles such as nutrition, hydration and sleep. If the other foundation principles are out of balance, your exercise program can actually harm your body, not help it.

BodyProFtL sees exercise as more than just a tool to build muscle or lose weight. Exercise when administered properly not only helps build muscle and helps promote weight loss; it also “pumps” the body, improves function and cardiovascular fitness.

Karel Bobath a famous neurophysiologist, stated years ago that the human body knows nothing about muscles, only movements. At BodyProFtL we utilize Paul Chek’s 7 Primal Patterns® which include twist, bend, squat, push, pull, lunge and gait. These 7 Primal Patterns® can be broken down for any sport or activity and skill level.
